Cottage, Goveton, Nr Kingsbridge

This fabulous old cottage in Goveton already had stripped floorboards on the landing and in one of the bedrooms but they had been stained very darkly. As a result, the rooms were quite dark so Surfaces were called in to sand back to bare wood and finish with a hard-wax oil to provide a natural finish.

Holiday Cottage, West Alvington

This holiday cottage in West Alvington needed a simple re-paint to freshen it up and the removal of Ivy from the side wall. A magnolia Sandtex paint was used for the walls and black gloss for the wood and downpipes.

Farmhouse, West Alvington

Sitting at the head of an exposed valley, this farmhouse has suffered the full effects of the weather. The job involves the cleaning, sanding back and repainting of all the metal downpipes, rafter ends, eaves and fascia boards. The working height in places has required the use of scaffold towers.

Coastal House, Thurlestone

This was a magnificent coastal house in Thurlestone with a large sea-facing veranda. The railings were in a bad state of repair and needed to be stripped back, to bare metal in places, primed and then finished with specialist metal paint.

Holiday Home, Hope Cove

This superb holiday home in Hope Cove had a wonderful existing wooden floor but years of wear and tear from sandy feet had taken the shine and colour out of the floor. Surfaces came in and a few days later the floor was rejuvenated and finished with a Bona Mega matt floor lacquer.

Cottage, West Alvington

The kitchen windows and back-door frame had suffered extensively from wet rot and required complete restoration and re-decoration. Window frames were treated, filled and re-painted and the doorframe and weatherboard were replaced using one of Surface’s experienced carpenters to produce an as-new finish.
AFTER
Farm, West Alvington

The garage facia boards above the door were suffering from the effects of weathering and required immediate treatment. The main beam inside was also rotten so this was replaced together with new pine, tongue and groove boarding at the front.

House, Exmouth

The owner of this property in Exmouth wished that the floorboards in her hallway could match her previously sanded dining room floor. Surfaces removed the carpets, replaced a damaged floor board, filled gaps, sanded and sealed the floor using identical varnish to seamlessly blend the two floors together.
